Total build time: 292 hours.
The right spar was built much like the left spar with some subtle differences in the assembly. However I learned so much during the left spar that the right spar took nearly half the time. This weekend I had myself a marathon session of building the right spar, and made a new rig to document my progress.
With this new watchful camera taking video frames every 10 seconds, I was able to create the following time-lapse video. My progress in this video follows roughly the same sequence as the left spar: laying out the spar -> pilot drilling the spar -> updrilling -> countersinking -> deburring and priming -> reassembly -> riveting. This is 18.5 hours of work in a weekend compressed into 1 minute 14 seconds.
I didn’t quite finish the spar this weekend, I have about 120 (of 360-ish) rivets to go. I’ll continue recording this kind of video and hope to do some fun stuff with it in the future.
Here are some more pictures of the spar coming together.
