As with the left aileron, I prepared several parts for the left/right flap simultaneously. Here are the drive horns:
After having made the left aileron, the left flap was a piece of cake in comparison. The aerobatic aileron option actually makes the flap simpler and shorter, with only 3 total ribs, making it a simpler surface than even the ruddervators. I drilled and polished the skins, and have pictures of riveting:
I then pinned the left flap next to the left aileron on the left wing substructure. I’m pretty happy with how the alignment between the flap and aileron turned out. Time will tell how the inboard end of the flap matches with the fuselage.
I’m running out of things to accomplish before completing the left wing!
